Located in central Winchester, the St Thomas property is a grade II listed property dating back to the 18th century. The project brief was to create a new dining area adjoining the existing kitchen by enclosing a small courtyard space to the rear of the property.

The glazed extension has been designed to have a minimal impact on the building as possible so as not to detract from the building's historical significance. Design ACB worked with specialist structural engineers Paul Tanner Associates to overcome a series of structural problems with the existing structure which included underpinning of the existing brick party wall.  

The project was completed in January 2012.
