Design ACB have been commissioned by a private client to design a contemporary extension to an end of terrace house in this sought after location in London. The building is Grade II listed, and any proposals therefore need to sensitively reflect the historic fabric of the dwelling.
Through consultation with the local conservation officer, Design ACB have designed a contemporary rear and side extension whilst retaining the historical features of the building. The proposals include the complete refurbishment of the existing house, a new open plan kitchen dining area and a new glazed extension to the rear. The existing basement will also be extended to provide a media room, utility space and mater bedroom suite.
The internal arrangements provide modern and contemporary living within a constrained historic plan form.
